It’s not the message that matters

First Monday of the month = L&D Monday

I will do an L&D tip from now on the first Monday of each month. It is the area I am better known for after writing three books on L&D, and numerous articles and eBooks.

So…

Years ago, I worked with a professional services firm that ran an internal survey. The results were intriguing.

Employees said that they received plenty of training, but not enough development.

Further investigation revealed that staff felt they had access to as much training and online learning as they could wish for, but they did not get many opportunities to ‘develop’.

Shadow experts
Do stretching tasks
Collaborate with peers
And reflect on their experiences.
