Cobwebs that become cables

part of a cobweb with dew drops on a red background

“Habits are at first cobwebs, and then they become cables.” Spanish proverb

Often, we don’t even notice the cables. They become such a fixture in our lives, and yet they bind us.

Everyone would like to change something in their lives. I do, we all do.

For something in our lives to change, there must be an initial change that leads to the change we want. Change requires change. It is a process, not an event.

Change requires loosening the cables to give you wriggle room to start the process of change.

What little change can you make in your day-to-day activities that will lead to the bigger change you want?

Perhaps it’s a habit around timekeeping, or eating, or staying focussed, or prioritising tasks, or how you relate to somebody.

It’s been said that a new habit takes around 21 days of repetition to settle in. So what can you do for 21 days that will make a difference?

We want the bigger changes, but we will seldom get these if we don’t start with the little ones.

What little change would your future successful self ask you to do today?

My best wishes, Paul
