Are you a captive in your box?

Puppy looking out of a wooden box

We all live in a box – our own box. We live in there together with everything we know and believe.

Anything inside the box makes sense to us.

Anything outside the box doesn’t make sense, and we don’t do that stuff. That would be stupid. That’s crazy! Why would you do that? It would NEVER work!

We only do things that make sense. Right?

But what if we are not getting the results we want?

It must be because at least some of what we do, even though it makes sense to us, is the wrong approach to getting what we want.

Others can get those results, so they must be doing things that are in their box, but not in our box.

To get a step change in the results you are getting, you need to do something that is outside your box and thus, at least initially, doesn’t make sense to you.

Look for someone who does get the kind of results you want and model or copy what they do that’s different, even if it doesn’t make sense yet.

Break free of your box!

My best wishes, Paul
