One word… “Why?”

Guiding star

This is the third of a series of tips on how to handle crazy busy and not get caught up in the ‘fear’ of failing to handle it, and the resulting stress chemicals.

Third tip: One word… “Why?”

We do what we do because we have a reason to do it. Always. The reason might be a habit, or unconscious assumptions, or valid only to us, or explicit and obvious for all to see, but there will be a reason.

Stop for a minute… And think about what you are really trying to achieve overall and the reason WHY you are trying to achieve it.

Now consider the tasks that make you crazy busy and evaluate whether they are still relevant for pursuing your greater outcome.

Are you still on track, or have you drifted off course?

It is only when you have your greater outcome in mind as a guiding star that you can prioritise and triage the tasks on your crazy busy to-do list.

What is the guiding star for your to-do list?

Now, look at your list under the light of this guiding star.

My best wishes, Paul
